My company is in the Index: how do I obtain the underlying analysis?
Order the fully annotated report specific to your web site. Each report has commentary on each of the 26 sub-metrics as well as scores and contains no boiler-plate text. The cost is €6,650 / $8,950 / £4,495 plus VAT where applicable.
The analysis is adapted from our highly respected corporate benchmarking methodology (see Methodology). Even with a lighter technique, we provide 5,000+ words of commentary.
We do not use a checklist approach: our analysts are experts on the corporate web, as well as business, and are trained to ask first what should be provided, and only then to judge how well it is provided. ‘Appropriate ‘is the key word. Commentary provides insight into relative strengths and weaknesses that helps with prioritisation and goal setting.
The price quoted is for a single website report. You can elect to have competitor or other websites analysed as comparators: the cost increases on a sliding scale according to the total number of sites reviewed.
The reports are excellent for senior management presentations and offer a robust method that can be repeated to demonstrate progress over time; and provide a realistic comparison with peers.

My company or organisation is not in the Index: how would it score?
We will perform an analysis of your web presence using the same methodology we employ for the Index. We will look at the entire presence, though if there are many subsidiary/country/brand sites, we use samples rather than examining them all.
The technique is as described above. Each report costs €6,650 / $8,950 / £4,495.
If you are in the public/NGO sector, we can provide a similar report, with metrics tailored to your needs. Our experience in this area includes international organisations, NGOs and central banks.

Why do I need this? What are the benefits?
This form of benchmarking provides a snapshot of your website: it highlights strengths and weaknesses; offers a robust method that can be repeated to demonstrate progress over time; and provides a realistic comparison with peers.
The benchmark will help you determine how well your website meets the needs of your organisation and its online visitors; and to identify some of the changes that can make it best in class.
Our benchmarking services offer many benefits.
1. Our expert reviews get under the skin of a website and reveal whether its performance matches up to its looks.
2. Constructive, detailed and independent feedback provides a clear ‘to do’ list that will support your online communications team.
3. Identification of your site’s strengths and weaknesses helps to target resources where they can be most effective and deliver competitive advantage.
4. Best practice pointers illustrate who has mastered the issues you are facing and provides ideas that can be adopted or adapted.
5. Benchmarking is the basis for ongoing measurement and direct comparison with peers – leading to a consistent and high standard of web presence.

Is this an objective exercise?
No. We always consider the profile and needs of the companies being examined: in that sense our benchmarking is not objective, nor should it be. For the same reason, it is not a ‘tickbox’ exercise: every metric is judged by its relevance and its utility to the client, rather than ‘Is it there or is it not?’. The key question is much more likely to be ‘How appropriate is it?’.
