What do journalists need?
What do journalists want from corporate websites? Médard Schoenmaeckers, head of media relations at Syngenta, thought it might be a good idea to find out. So he asked 40 of them, and got several surprises. Hear what he has to say about podcasts, RSS, corporate sites and blogs (the last bit should make you smile).

Thanks for sharing this – and this resonates with what our colleagues hear when they ask their "usual media contacts".
And this is where I would like to question the approach: These surveys are limited to people who are used to a 1:1 service – how big is the chance that they have extensive (online) needs outside of that relationship? But how about all the others who do not enjoy the personal service because they just started writing or are located at the other end of the world? As you say, even the "usual media contacts" consider online media as ever more important sources. Shouldn’t we then rather start asking exactly those online media editors what THEY need from a website?
