The Bowen Craggs & Co team brings together a unique range of experience and involvement with online corporate communications stretching from the early days of the medium. The team is led by David Bowen, who founded Net Profit in 1996 and has been a long-standing columnist on the business web for the Financial Times and ft.com. Since 2007 the team has been responsible for the annual Bowen Craggs Index of Online Excellence, which is established as the most credible overview of corporate online channels.

David is founding partner and a senior consultant for Bowen Craggs & Co. He co-founded the company in 2002, six years after establishing the London-based publishing and consultancy business Net Profit. In 2004 David was named one of the 100 most influential Britons in the internet’s first decade. David was twice named UK national newspaper industrial journalist of the year during his seven years as industrial editor of The Independent on Sunday. He was also energy editor of The Independent and in 1998 began a long-running twice-monthly column on websites for the Financial Times.

Dan is a partner in Bowen Craggs & Co, having joined in 2005 as commercial director after 12 years as an internet entrepreneur. In 1993 he founded a software company that developed operational online risk management tools. Eight years later he founded a leading enterprise-class web analytics software company. Both companies had successful exits for Dan and his venture capital investors. At Bowen Craggs he has grown the Web Effectiveness Network to more than 500 members, expanded the company’s client base to include more than 50 Fortune Global 500 corporations and added audience research to the services portfolio.

Jonathan Holt

Jonathan has been a Bowen Craggs associate analyst and consultant since 2007. He has over 20 years of experience working across corporate communications, editorial and marketing. Jonathan was managing editor of bp.com from 2004 until 2006. He has also held in-house communications roles at BT and Dow Jones. During the internet boom years of the late 1990s, he was an editor at About.com, the information network that was later bought by the New York Times.

Lisa joined Bowen Craggs in 2017 as Community Manager, responsible for developing and managing The Bowen Craggs Club for online corporate communications professionals. Lisa previously worked at Shell where as Digital Operations Manager, she led a large global team responsible for Shell.com, 100+ country and business websites in 30 languages, analytics, search engine optimisation, taxonomy, accessibility and online standards & training.

Karen Le Marquand

Karen is an analyst and senior consultant at Bowen Craggs & Co, as well as taking a lead role in the development of the company’s subscriber benchmark database and future development of its own website. She has extensive experience of digital media in Italy and the UK, including as an account director for agencies such as Deepend, Ogilvy and Syzygy and for clients from industries including automotive, charity and financial services, among many more. She has also worked on projects that include major web builds, e-ticketing and digital marketing campaigns.

Helen has worked with Bowen Craggs since 2007, playing a key role in the development of its external research services and all aspects of their delivery. Previously Helen managed the web presence of The BOC Group, having initiated and led the successful relaunch of its corporate website.

Denise joined Bowen Craggs in 2015 as Office and Finance Administrator. Before that, she built up more than 20 years of experience in areas such as cash management, reconciliations and customer service at global companies including HSBC, BNY Mellon and Worldpay.

Andy has worked in commercial web development and consultancy since 1996 and with Bowen Craggs since 2013. Originally from a production & design background this has been broadened by technical consultancy in Performance Management and high availability systems; and then web analytics and usability. He understand the business goals, operational implementation & support as well as the design and development of large scale commercial web sites. Having seen how big sites are built and run he knows how to help the communications and technical teams understand each other and work effectively together.

Scott is managing partner and a senior consultant at Bowen Craggs & Co. He has been writing about online communications since 1998, and conducting research and consultancy work in the area since 2000. Before joining Bowen Craggs in 2011, he was launch editor of pan-European investor relations magazine Real IR and editor of Business Voice, the Confederation of British Industry’s magazine. Scott’s business journalism has appeared in publications including the Financial Times, The Spectator and The Independent. His research reports have been published by The Economist Intelligence Unit, KPMG, PwC and Freshfields, among numerous other organizations.

Mali Perdeaux

Mali is a senior consultant. She joined Bowen Craggs & Co in 2004 as its first analyst and researcher, and is also now a lead member of the team managing and developing its subscriber benchmark database. Before joining the company Mali was responsible as internet manager for the online corporate presence of Arup, a major international engineering and technology services consultancy. She has also worked in IT recruitment, as multi-media executive for a small UK agency.

Jason Sumner

Jason joined Bowen Craggs & Co in 2014 as a senior consultant. He has contributed to a number of client projects, has been closely involved in producing the Index of Online Excellence and has edited reports on corporate website home pages, content strategy and online investor relations. Prior to joining Bowen Craggs, Jason was an editor and analyst for the Economist Intelligence Unit for eight years. While at the EIU, he was editor-in-chief of the Siemens Green City Index and was also a frequent commentator on the technology and telecoms sector. A former journalist, Jason has edited publications on a range of topics including corporate social responsibility, knowledge management and corporate communications.
